Substitute Teacher

HS English Teacher, grades 9-12

Faith Christian School is seeking a high school English teacher to add to our ministry team. Our teachers must have a dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ, proven excellence in integrating faith and learning, experience with high school students, the ability to hold students and themselves to high standards, and be capable of differentiating instruction for a wide range of student abilities. Core classes focus on spelling, vocabulary, grammar, writing, and literature and would include at least two sections of English 9/10 and at least two sections of English 11/12. Bachelor’s degree in education required. ACSI or PA state certification preferred.

Part-time Spanish Teacher, grades 9-12

Faith Christian School is seeking a high school Spanish teacher to add to our ministry team. Our teachers must have a dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ, proven excellence in integrating faith and learning, experience with high school students, the ability to hold students and themselves to high standards, be fluent in Spanish and English. Core classes would include Spanish 1 and 2 with the possibility of Spanish 3. Classes meet every day, Monday through Friday.

Faith Christian School is an independent, parent-governed, Christian school established in 1980 to provide a Christ-centered education for students K-12th grade. Located in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and one mile north of Bangor, PA and eight miles south of Stroudsburg, PA, at the foothills of the Pocono Mountains bordering the Delaware Water Gap, Faith Christian School has been serving the Christian communities of the Pocono Mountains, Slate Belt, Eastern New Jersey, and the Lehigh Valley regions for over 45 years. With students from 11 school districts and over 50 churches, Faith Christian School has a diverse and outstanding population of approximately 240 students.

Our teachers must have a dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ, proven excellence in integrating faith and learning, classroom experience with students, hold students and themselves to high standards, and are capable of differentiating instruction for a wide range of student abilities. Bachelor’s degree in education required. ACSI or PA state certification preferred.

The main duties and responsibilities of the position include but not limited to:

1. Effectively teach students for the current school year in a traditional self-contained classroom.
2. Develop spiritual maturity of each student through integrating, applying and communicating Biblical truth.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate would have earned a B.S/B.A. Degree in education with successful student teaching experience and a definite call to teach in a Christian School. In addition, the candidate must be a mature born again Christian believer, capable of modeling exemplary Christian character and leadership befitting a teacher of a Christian school.
