From the Athletic Director
Faith Christian School believes that all that is done in life should be pleasing to God, including athletics. The athlete, coach, and team are striving to do their best in all areas of life. Participating with actions and attitudes pleasing to Christ are of the utmost importance. Performing at one’s best for the benefit of the team is primary; winning is secondary. The coach is to teach a Christian athlete how to deal with both winning and losing, as well as with the pressures in the athletic world, in a manner that is pleasing to God. We believe the team is more important than one individual. Team unity is vital, while individual achievements are also recognized. (I Cor. 10:31; Col. 3:23)
The Faith Christian School sports program is founded upon the example of Jesus who grew in wisdom, stature and in favor with God and man. Spiritual, physical and social development are essential to every student’s growth. We strive to provide a positive and structured training environment for all sports offered. Whether winning or losing it is our desire to see student-athletes develop Christian character and sportsmanship through athletic discipline and team camaraderie. FCS teams strive not only to win, but to exemplify those traits that glorify God.
We consider our coaches to be servant leaders who are to develop the Christian character of our student athletes by emphasizing great attitude, effort, and teamwork. Our heart is to glorify God every time we take the field. We play for Him.
In His Service,

Athletic Mission Statement
The Faith Christian School Sports Program exists to provide a positive and structured training environment to for all sports offered. Our sports program fosters the physical, mental, and social development of our student-athletes while promoting Christian character and sportsmanship through athletic discipline and team camaraderie.
Our Goals:
- To be Christ-like in all that we do through athletics and to always demonstrate our Christian testimony.
- To improve the individual: spiritually, socially and athletically.
- To teach that team unity is more important than individual achievement.
- To develop respect for others: coaches, officials, opponents, teammates and spectators.
- To be good stewards of what the Lord provided for us by caring for equipment, facilities, belongings, etc.
- To provide opportunities for fellowship with teammates and other Christian schools.
- Team Levels: Since there are different skill levels of the players within our athletic teams, it is important to emphasize different goals at each team level.
- Therefore, our goals are:
- Middle School:
- To learn basic fundamentals of the sport.
- To learn the individual skills of the game.
- To learn team concepts.
- Varsity:
- To refine individual skills and team play.
- To apply the learned team concepts, strategy and tactics.
- To strive for team success.
- Middle School:
“Whatever sport you play, work at it with all your heart, as playing for the Lord, not for man’s approval, since you know you will receive a trophy from the Lord as a reward; for it is the Lord’s glory you are to be playing for- not your own.”
– Paraphrase of Colossians 3:23-24
